ISLAM IN BRIEF

  • What is Islam?
  • Islam is “submission to the will – and obedience to the system of The Creator

  • What is a Muslim?
  • A Muslim is anyone who submits the will of the Creator, and follows the system of the Creator.

  • Is Islam a religion?
  • Many religions have various parts of Islam embedded in their teachings.
Islam is a UNIversal SYStem, or guide of life, for mankind, by our Creator, and not a religion in traditional sense.

  • Who is the Creator?
  • The Creator is the ever existing, unlimited, power of the infinite Universe.
The Creator does not have any form, all of which, can be seen by humans, but exists in, or coexists with, everyone and everything in the Universe.
We cannot “picture” The Creator in our minds. It is therefore wrong to call The Creator “He” or “She”.
However, we use many names and qualities to describe The Creator, like: Allah, God, Jehova, Shiva, Brahma, The Merciful, The Most High etc, etc.
We know that The Creator exists only through the undeniable signs we see all around us.

  • Is Islam a System of Terror?
  • The Arabic root word of “Islam” means peace, purity, submission and obedience.
Islam, therefore, is a peaceful system for all humans.
Terror and violance is not part of Islam, but many deviating sects, and individuals, are using Islam as a shield for their criminal activities.

  • Is Islam an Enslaving System?
  • Islam categorically forbids anyone to enslave another human being.
All creations in the Universe have to obey by the rules set by The Creator, “willingly or unwillingly”. This is what we usually call “the law of nature”.
However, human beings are unique as we have been given a will to choose, from options within a frame set by The Creator.
We are only answerable for our choices to our Creator as there are no priests or bishops or monks etc. in Islam, even though some try to declare themselves as scholars and leaders.

  • What about Women in Islam?
  • Women and men are equal in the eyes of The Creator, and should be treated as such.
The deviating sects, however, are giving men higher status then women, sometimes to the extent of enslaving women for the benefit of men.
This is in direct opposition to the word of The Creator and has nothing to do with Islam.
Polygami is also a misunderstood concept of Islam, where monogamy is the approved practice. Only on very special occasions is polygami allowed, and then only for the benefit of all parties involved.

  • How can Islam Help Me?
  • Islam explains the purpose of life and how to lead a life that is optimal for us and for our near, and far, surroundings.
Islam can help you to gain, and to give, peace, prosperity and happiness for yourself and your surroundings.

  • Does Islam Worship Idols?
  • No. Islam does not have any idols.
Everything, and anything that we can sense (hear, see, smell, feel) are creations and does not have any power in themselves besides what has been given by The Creator.
There is also, no traditional worship in Islam. The remembering of God is to remind ourselves of our inferiority, and to remain humble and serving to our surroundings.

  • Why are so many Islamic Countries Poor?
  • No Islamic countries exist today, and has not been in existence for many centuries.
Islam has not been, and is not, practiced as prescribed by The Creator, by most people.
This deviation has led to misfortune and sufferings, throughout all countries claiming to be Islamic.
Various groups of individuals, or countries, disagree and are fighting and quarreling; there is little or no cooperation between various contries.
The education level is amongst the lowest in the World, as is production, communication, living standards etc.

  • Are There Different Types of Islam?
  • There is only one Islam, but there are many different sects, hiding under the shield of Islam but not following the word of The Creator.
Two of the main groups are called Sunni and Shia.
These two groups are divided up into smaller fractions due to differences in opinion on how Islam should be practiced. The differences are large enough to cause enmities between the various fractions, and have even led to wars between “Islamic” countries.

  • Are the Laws of Islam “Inhumane”?
  • The law of Islam is a guide to rectify any wrongdoing in the fairest possible way, not for revenge.
In Islam, mutilation, like cutting off of hands and other limbs etc. is strictly forbidden.
Killing of other human beings is also strictly forbidden. Only in extremely rare cases, where no other means exist to prevent acts detrimental to others, may it be forgiven to take life.
The laws practiced by various sects are not according to Islam.
Some sects mutilate individuals, or kill them, based on traditions and/or opinions of scholars and other selfdeclared leaders of the various sects.
    Again, that is NOT Islam.

  • Are Other Systems or Religions, Wrong?
  • There is no right or wrong in religion, the system of Islam teaches total freedom in faith, as different faiths can lead to the same goal. Islam is a guide to the best way of life, and it is up to us to choose it or not.

  • What Scriptures are There in Islam?
  • The scripture of Islam is called The Quran. This contains the revelations given to prophet Muhammad. It states that is is complete and fully detailed. Therefore, no other scriptures are necessary.
However, the original Quran is not in use. What are used today are copies of a book where vowel- and other signs were added, many years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad.
Therefore the original meaning of some verses may have been lost.
Various sects are also using other man-made guides, like Hadiths etc., which are fabrications from free fantacy, and are the main reason for the many deviations from Islam.

  • Does Islam have many Followers?
  • There are more than 1 billion individuals who claim to be Muslims, or Submitters
However, these are, mainly, people who do not follow the commandments of The Creator.
Those who are true believers, who do not belong to any sect, are very, very few, but the number is growing, as more and more individuals are asking and searching for the real Islam.

  • Who was Muhammad?
  • Muhammad was the last in a line of many prophets, or messengers, including Moses, Abraham, Jesus and all the others mentioned in the Christian and Jewish scriptures.
Various sects are, wrongfully, worshipping Muhammad through prayers and other functions, and are holding him in higher esteem than the other prophets.
This is against the teachings of Islam.

  • What did Muhammad teach?
  • Muhammad was teaching the way of life described to him by The Creator, just like all other prophets and messengers.
His revelations were assembled into the original Quran.

  • How do I Become a Muslim?
  • If you believe in one God, our Creator, and try to follow the law of God, you are a Muslim already.

Do not confuse Islam with the deviated sects of Sunni or Shia, or other deviations.

You do not have to learn Arabic to become a Muslim. God is not an Arab, it just so happened that Arabic was chosen for the last, and complete, revelationn as the Prophet receiving it was an Arab.

You can learn more about Islam by following courses or having a guide who can lead you through the various main points. You will, however, surely meet followers of various sects and be confused by all their riuals etc. You will, especially, find this amongst most of the “established” islamic clergy system and in the existing mosques.
Just bear in mind; you are only answerable for your belief to The Creator. No human being can judge you for your belief. There are no priests or other intermediaries between yourself and The Creator.
From everything you learn, you have to make choices for yourself.
The Creator has made the system easy for us to follow, but we are making it difficult for ourselves.
